Pro-lifers are split over whether abortions should be allowed in the case of pregnancy resulting from sexual assault. Some would argue that in cases where she was forced into intercourse, the mother did not incur an obligation to allow the child to use her body, and that therefore she should be able to abort. Others would outlaw these abortions, claiming that even though it is unjust that the woman was forced into pregnancy, it would be even more unjust to, in effect, punish the child for her father's crime. The question is far from settled.
